Meet Timothy M. McGonigle

Timothy M. McGonigle is a lifelong resident of the 7th District of Pennsylvania, he was born in Sharon, raised in Hermitage, and is a current Mercer County Commissioner. Tim and his family have been well recognized over the years throughout Mercer and Lawrence Counties as the owners of both McGonigle Ambulance Service Inc., and the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home Inc. Owning and operating two community based businesses in Mercer and Lawrence County has provided Tim with a great foundation for public service. As a small town business owner and County Commissioner he has a better understanding, through both public and private service, of what his constituents deem most important. Life experiences and his hometown values have served him well and have prepared him to represent the 7th district in Harrisburg.

Tim is a graduate of Kennedy Christian High School and attended both Gannon University, and The Pennsylvania State University, Shenango Valley Campus. He later was accepted into the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he graduated and became a licensed Funeral Director. While in college, he also earned his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). McGonigle resides in Hermitage with his wife, Christina and they have three daughters, Lauren, Sarah, and Caroline.

Tim has been very active in his community and currently serves on the following boards: The ARC of Mercer County; The Pennsylvania State University SVC Advisory Board, Mercer County Community Action Partnership (Treasurer); United Way of Mercer County; Primary Health Network Foundation; West Central Job Partnership (Chairman); Mercer County Regional Council of Governments (Vice-President, Executive Board); and as a county commissioner he serves on the Prison Board, Retirement Board, Conservation District Board, Salary Board, Tax Assessment Reviews Board, and Board of Elections. He is also the liaison to many departments including Children and Youth Services, and the Mercer County Veterans Office. For over 20 years, he has enjoyed serving on the Buhl Day Committee as the golf tournament director. Always concerned with Emergency Medical Services, Tim recently assisted the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania as a member of their EMS Task Force.

Tim is a member of Notre Dame Church in Hermitage and enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, and gardening in his free time.
